Murder Mystery Dinner with the Youth

Another really long post with loads of pics, hope you enjoy!

Last week we held a Murder Mystery Dinner for the youth men and women of our church. It was an absolute blast! Definitely need to put one of these together with friends soon. They are somuch fun and you get to see a side to people that you did not even know existed!

The year is 1883 in the West. Dusty Jones has made quite a few enemies in the town and yet they all gathered together to celebrate his new found riches since he found the old Gold mine. There are lots of people that would want to kill Dusty for many different reasons and it is up to the fine towns folk to be deputized to figure out who did him in.

The towns folk enjoying their food. They were each put at tables and those became their detective groups.

They all looked great in their Western wear!

This table really struggled getting a good pic....

I guess we just needed to add a boy to the scene, much better!

Our suspects trying to play it cool like they are all innocent.....

The suspects all gave speaches about what they thought about Dusty...oh how sweet...or was it?

Does Dusty have anything to say in response? Oh no he is dead!!!!

The Sherrif in town would not stand for a murder while he was on duty, he deputized all the towns folk, time to find a murderer!!!

And the questioning begins......

Some tried to play innocent....

Others did not even try and cover their joy over the scum Dusty being dead....

The Sherrif was there to keep it all under control

Some deputies tried to look confident

Others looked boggled ......
and confused......

and peaceful?

as long as she had her trusty steed, there was no way a murderer would get away tonight!

they look baffled, good thing they have each other to problem solve

Some tried to proclaim and profess that they definitely KNEW who the murderer was! Long lengthy dramatic and super entertaining explainations

Some were more quiet and humble....

Some thought it was the mayor, he just laughed at the accusations!

He sure is being quiet.....very suspicious, no eye contact

a few people even thought it was the Dr, she denied the whole thing

We may never know who the killer is.....we all look so innocent

But Dusty is still dead and no one can leave til we figure it out(I told him I know a good Physical Therapy clinic if he needs one after sitting there for two hours with his neck kinked like that)
Oh no the Sherrif has told everyone who it was(after everyone's guesses were wrong!) Who else but the dime novel writer from the East coast who is none other then Dusty's sister of whom Dusty teased all growing up to the point of ruining her engagement and happiness!! It will teach all you people, never come between a girl and her man!! Yes it is true, it was all Pat!! Even though I still think it was Cheif Wannahackalugi! Look at his sligh grin in the background! He framed me!!!

No one beleived that story so I ran out of the building with the Sherrif hot on my heels!!

I want to just give a shout out to all the Youth who participated and truly made the night a blast! I want to thank the leaders who not only helped but also came and participated and played their roles so well!! Special thanks to Paprika for helping me authenticate my costume! She was so great!

Reward for best in character: Bishop Harper
He definitely played his role to a T!

Best Costume: Kilo
I am sorry but any man who has to walk into church wearing womens leggings with nylons over top definitely gets the best costume award!!
besides the fact that I think his costume turned out very fun and awesome if I do say so myself!

Best deception: Natalie
Not one person guessed it was me and I was even extremely obvious with some of the clues I gave!
Best decorations: all those who both supplied and helped to set up! Not sure who that credit goes to but thanks again to all those who helped make this night possible!! You all rock!!
I love murder mystery dinners!! If you have never done one, you should!! They are so much fun!

Summer fun!!

Here are just a few of the pics I have taken of other fun times this summer. Maybe if I just do one big long post it will help me to catch up on this blog! Hopefully!

To start off there was one more August birthday that we celebrated for my friend Paprika(aka Brittania to her non cool friends, hee hee) Meg and I decided to surprise her with all sorts of a fun day since her hubby was out of town on her birthday and no one should be alone on their birthday. We started off getting pedicures. They were awesome!
Then Meg took Paprika to dinner while I jetted off to a baby shower of a friend. We met up for Menchies! Delicious!!
Our Cute toes! Pink, Blue and purple! So cute! Me, Paprika, Meg
Then we went to a movie at the Cinetopia, which is an awesome theatre that serves full on meals during the movie, of course we had already eaten so we got nothing, but also has the most comfortable seats with ottomans and everything! Freaking awesome!

On one of the few warm days we had Kilo and I went down to the river with Freckles to play. I love that we have a river that is a walk away! So fun to live so close to so many fun things!

Freckles loves his little bitty ball! He plays with it like a cat would. It is pretty hilarious! I love my little guy!

My husband hates me taking so many pics and calls me the crazy camera lady, hence his silly faces sometimes. I love this guy even more!

Kilo and I took up canning this year! Our great friends Megan and Andy helped us out with this. We are so freaking grateful! The first night we canned peaches and peach spice jam. They both turned out great and are delicious! Our Bishop has really ben stressing the importance of getting prepared with food storage and 72 hour kits so Kilo and I decided to get busy.

Jessie is loving helping us! This is Megan and Andy's cute little boy! He had a blast cutting the peaches

I am such the homemaker bahahaha!! I like to pretend and think that someday it will come true

Almost done! So rewarding to do somthing so wife like and not have my mother in charge. i had to grow up and be the adult with Megan in charge lol  Scooping the jam into the jars was messy!

The boys helped cut up the peaches but then it was more helpful for them to take a seat and play video games, which I think they were perfectly ok with

Another great time with the Harper family, but that goes without saying! Kilo hanging out with his buddies playing with some silly putty

Tory is showing off his mad skills

Bram was trying to take pics of the photographer, there is a reason I hide behind the camera!

Dallin has got some mad Twister skills, except I think that he is playing wrong.....

Oh there we go, I guess he just needed some friends to play with him!

Tumble and fall! Still a few bums in the air!!

Smiling happy people! Yay for twister!

Somehow they got me in front of the camera to play a game, I did not last long

We have been out to the water a few times on the Harpers boat. Somehow I got peer pressured into getting off the boat into the water to try wakeboarding, of which I still stink at, and going tubing. I am defintely not a huge fan of getting out behind the boat. I love being on it!

Adorable Cole always full of smiles!

I think this must be where he gets it from, his adorable mom!

Catching some sun

Caught in the act bahahaha so funny!

We also went out on the water with the youth of our church

Somehow Kilo got stuck behind the grill and is pretending to be upset lol

Went to the waterfront with Brittania and Megan.....tried to get a pic, where is Megan? Hiding behind the fat man, but I see Jessie and Paprika!

Paprika being so brave to go out on the tube to protect Cole....or was it the other way around?

Shana being even more brave driving the boat, she did awesome!

Yay Paprika and Cole

Dallin got up!

Bram got up!

Tory(aka Mr Cool Guy) chilling on mom's lap

We look so calm and collected, they did not capture our freaking out luckily!

We were having so much fun! Faster!

Natalie is up! or not......

We had friends over for games and treats

We made up our own rules to the game, even after reading through them twice

Cambria didreally well entertaining herslef with the toys!

Cute Meg and Paprika

I have had such a great summer, even though the sun did not come around until August. I really do prefer it that way. I love short summers! We have had lots of adventures and I am still not caught up but I feel a little better after this long post. Really need to make a weekly habit with how much we get to have fun and take so many great pics. My blogging habits are as great as my journalhabits, which is why I get so behind. This post does not even give justice to how much fun we are having living here and enjoying where we are and what we get to do right now being so young with so much possibility in front of us! I love my life and my husband and I feel so blessed to grow with him, learn with him, and love such an incredible man! Life is amazing!
