Summer fun!!

Here are just a few of the pics I have taken of other fun times this summer. Maybe if I just do one big long post it will help me to catch up on this blog! Hopefully!

To start off there was one more August birthday that we celebrated for my friend Paprika(aka Brittania to her non cool friends, hee hee) Meg and I decided to surprise her with all sorts of a fun day since her hubby was out of town on her birthday and no one should be alone on their birthday. We started off getting pedicures. They were awesome!
Then Meg took Paprika to dinner while I jetted off to a baby shower of a friend. We met up for Menchies! Delicious!!
Our Cute toes! Pink, Blue and purple! So cute! Me, Paprika, Meg
Then we went to a movie at the Cinetopia, which is an awesome theatre that serves full on meals during the movie, of course we had already eaten so we got nothing, but also has the most comfortable seats with ottomans and everything! Freaking awesome!

On one of the few warm days we had Kilo and I went down to the river with Freckles to play. I love that we have a river that is a walk away! So fun to live so close to so many fun things!

Freckles loves his little bitty ball! He plays with it like a cat would. It is pretty hilarious! I love my little guy!

My husband hates me taking so many pics and calls me the crazy camera lady, hence his silly faces sometimes. I love this guy even more!

Kilo and I took up canning this year! Our great friends Megan and Andy helped us out with this. We are so freaking grateful! The first night we canned peaches and peach spice jam. They both turned out great and are delicious! Our Bishop has really ben stressing the importance of getting prepared with food storage and 72 hour kits so Kilo and I decided to get busy.

Jessie is loving helping us! This is Megan and Andy's cute little boy! He had a blast cutting the peaches

I am such the homemaker bahahaha!! I like to pretend and think that someday it will come true

Almost done! So rewarding to do somthing so wife like and not have my mother in charge. i had to grow up and be the adult with Megan in charge lol  Scooping the jam into the jars was messy!

The boys helped cut up the peaches but then it was more helpful for them to take a seat and play video games, which I think they were perfectly ok with

Another great time with the Harper family, but that goes without saying! Kilo hanging out with his buddies playing with some silly putty

Tory is showing off his mad skills

Bram was trying to take pics of the photographer, there is a reason I hide behind the camera!

Dallin has got some mad Twister skills, except I think that he is playing wrong.....

Oh there we go, I guess he just needed some friends to play with him!

Tumble and fall! Still a few bums in the air!!

Smiling happy people! Yay for twister!

Somehow they got me in front of the camera to play a game, I did not last long

We have been out to the water a few times on the Harpers boat. Somehow I got peer pressured into getting off the boat into the water to try wakeboarding, of which I still stink at, and going tubing. I am defintely not a huge fan of getting out behind the boat. I love being on it!

Adorable Cole always full of smiles!

I think this must be where he gets it from, his adorable mom!

Catching some sun

Caught in the act bahahaha so funny!

We also went out on the water with the youth of our church

Somehow Kilo got stuck behind the grill and is pretending to be upset lol

Went to the waterfront with Brittania and Megan.....tried to get a pic, where is Megan? Hiding behind the fat man, but I see Jessie and Paprika!

Paprika being so brave to go out on the tube to protect Cole....or was it the other way around?

Shana being even more brave driving the boat, she did awesome!

Yay Paprika and Cole

Dallin got up!

Bram got up!

Tory(aka Mr Cool Guy) chilling on mom's lap

We look so calm and collected, they did not capture our freaking out luckily!

We were having so much fun! Faster!

Natalie is up! or not......

We had friends over for games and treats

We made up our own rules to the game, even after reading through them twice

Cambria didreally well entertaining herslef with the toys!

Cute Meg and Paprika

I have had such a great summer, even though the sun did not come around until August. I really do prefer it that way. I love short summers! We have had lots of adventures and I am still not caught up but I feel a little better after this long post. Really need to make a weekly habit with how much we get to have fun and take so many great pics. My blogging habits are as great as my journalhabits, which is why I get so behind. This post does not even give justice to how much fun we are having living here and enjoying where we are and what we get to do right now being so young with so much possibility in front of us! I love my life and my husband and I feel so blessed to grow with him, learn with him, and love such an incredible man! Life is amazing!

My Birthday....I got spoiled

For both mine and Kilo's birthdays we went to dinner with the Harpers to Red Robin. Time with this family is always a BLAST! These boys keep Kilo and I young and laughing all the time! Their parents are pretty much awesome as well!
Finally caught Bram in a photo before he could turn and hide :-)

Jeff an Dallin looking very serious about their food

Shana and Tory with adorale smiles

I am not exactly sure but I think Shana thought she was dodging the camera back there...heehee

Our birthday hats while they sang Happy Birthday to us (aka Coffee filters lol)

Tory and his balloons, he had picked the one balloon without a string so we tied two together

Please keep in mind that the next few pics are of me at 5:30 am and myhair and makeup are not done. So don't judge. My beautiful friends Meg and Paprika decorated my car with heart cut outs and balloons! It was so sweet and so cute of them! I kept them in there for over a week cuz I wanted to keep feeling special.

My husband made me a birthday cake that turned out much better then the cake I attempted for him. If you are not sure what this is look up the Zumba logo and you will see how absolutely amazin he did! Love my man!

All the treats and presents from my amazing friends and roses from my husband! Love him!

It was an incredible birthday spent with great people! Thanks everyone!

Now time to rewind......

Now it is time to tell some things that happened in AUg that I skipped to tell the YW High Adventure story. For Kilo's birthday I tried to be really sweet and bake him a cake....well that didnot go over well at all. The following are pictures of an epic fail that will go down in the history books of family stories for us for sure!

The cakes cooked awesome and things were looking promising!

M&M's seperated, I feel like the owner of the M&M company must really like the color orange and green. The whole six pound bag seperated by yours truly

The mixing of the frosting to make it black...and the worrying begins. Started out with this tiny tub of frosting

And when I was still trying to make it black and had this huge tub of frosting, I knew I was a dead girl!

I was running out of time til Kilo was going to be off work and had not given myself enough time to let the cakes cool, really not enough time for any of it because I was trying to make it all a surprise. Well Here is the mess that it became because I am no cake decorator and did not plan this out very well.......

I started off feeling like maybe just one side would work out and it would all be ok as long as he only saw the one side

Well once I started having to literally squoosh it back together with both hands to try and get it to work I knew it was a goner
Don't you even worry, I cried.

Needless to say I will be taking cake decorating classes VERY soon, because I really will not be taken down by this stinkin Rubix cube cake!

At one point I felt like the fairies off of Sleeping Beauty when they were trying not to use magic to make the birthday cake, here is a refresher:

Seriously if you watched that and can picture me putting sticks in the cake, literally, and the cake sliding sideways and all, that was my experience that day. It is too bad that my wands were in the shop or else I would have magicked my way out as well.

Thank goodness I have an amazing husband who is not picky, and ate every single bit! I love him!

Day 2: Ape Caves=Absolutely Awesome!!!!

Well here it goes for day 2! We started off the day by cleaning up camp and packing it all out. We were all tired and maybe a little cranky so there are not many smiles in the pictures.

Packing up in Monica's Van.

Trying to decide if Kaci was going to ride on the top with the lack of space or if we would have to sacrifice Kilo's duffle bag....LOL I think Kaci was about to pull out her dukes
Alexis and Kaci workinghard to make sure the trailor did not roll away and that none of our stuff got stolen by the bears.

Not sure if Abby is scared, surprised, or yawning.....maybe she is yelling about the bees

The girls' spirit sticks all lined up in a row looking awesome with all the trinkets. Each story or devotional that we had there was a trinket that went with it to go on their sticks to remind them of the things they learned. It was pretty neat to see the girls enjoy them.
This was maybe the funniest part of the whole adventure and truly showed exactly how true grit these young women are! The first day at camp the YW had built a bathrrom that was seriously really well done! It smelled like pine and everything! Well three days later when it was time to clean it up the smell of pine was definitely gone! They stood around and discussed how this was going down for quite a while.

And the action begins. WHo will take off the toilet seat? Who will hold the bag it will go inside of? Then who will hold the toilet and the bag that it will go inside of? The toilet was make shift froma bucket will a holw cut in the bottom.

Shelby was such a trooper! Got down to business. Sarah looks like she is about to lose it and they have not even taken off the seat!

Savanah must have lost rock paper scissors! She got the bag with the bucket!

These girls look a little too at ease with this whole process.... they must not have had to cover up the hole

Shelby got named "Shelby Poopy Hands" poor girl! She really "mannd up" when it was needed!  Sarah got dibs to shovel dirt into the hole
Kaci was a great support from the side
These are Tammy's feelings on the whole situation....yup that is her tongue sticking out.... YUCK!

After we survived all that trauma we had one last devotional at camp before heading out. We talked about keeping the light with ourselves and shining for others. Keeping Christ's light with us for others to see. On our way to the Ape Caves we took a pic of the girls with Mt St Helens. These girls were such troopers!

Added in the leaders! True Grit!! We came we conquered we survived!!!

The leaders were feeling pretty strong to have kept up with the Young Women. So pleased!

My eternal companion was a huge help on the hike!! I am so grateful to be married to the most incredible man I have ever known! He is truly the man of my dreams!

When we got to the Ape caves we decided to eat before heading in. Well for lack of a better place to sit We sat on the side of the road and ate our lunches. We did not care to look for somewhere better.

These girls have great appetites and love food which was great cuz we had plenty!

It was pitch black in the caves. I have never seen anything so amazing! Completely black unless someones light was shining on it. So of course we used this as a learning experience for the girls and talked about how when we sin that takes us further from the light of the Savior but that we can help each other back with our light. The girls did great in the caves.

We gave the girls some glow sticks just for the fun of it. They Loved them almost as much as the leaders :-)

For those of you that have never been to the Ape caves, you literally scale walls and climb up boulders if you start at the bottom. It was so much fun and absolutely incredible. I cannot tell you the things that you experience when you are relying on a sole individual tiny light. It was so great.

I am so grateful fo rthe opportunity to serve with these girls and to see their testimony of the Savior and His gospel grow. It helps mine to grow and strengthen and blesses me daily.
